GM Tool Box:

Reducing Stress in the Workplace

Detroit, Michigan

Wednesday, February 23, 2005

A new program is available at General Motors to assist their managers in reducing stress levels and improving performance. The program will use HotWired Learning©   to deliver the GM Tool Box for Success developed by Silver Bullet Partners and presented in partnership with Anspire, LLC. HotWired Learning© uses licensed Hollywood film clips to ignite the learning process for adults. The HotWired Learning©, a proprietary presentation technology, is as entertaining as it is effective. The GM Tool Box provides managers leave the session with the thinking, tools and education required to immediately put in practice what has been experienced in the workshop.

There is only one goal in business and that is to make money. SBP educational programs create a dynamic TEAM of managers prepared to deliver improved performance with reduced stress levels in your company. This is accomplished through clarity or purpose, effective listening creating a hybrid approach for the Coach / Manager. Managers control and measure, but Coaches educate. The GM Tool Box for Success will enhance existing skills while introducing additional skills that focus on reducing stress and improving performance.

S2: Tiara University

Holland, Michigan

Tuesday, November 9, 2004

S2 Yachts hosted more than 50 dealers at their annual Tiara University. This proprietary sales education program featured a closing address by the President of Silver Bullet Partners, Inc. Peter G. Basica. The group responded enthusiastically to the speaker who targeted improvement for learning and the communication process as critical elements to controlling your personal and professional success. The presentation style was unique in that film clips were used as a teaching tool and increase audience involvement. Watching Mick open Rocky’s eye in the film classic ROCKY punctuated the discussion on learning by experience. There was not a person in the room who failed to understand the message: learning by experience is painful!

“We have known for years that people retain more information when we use HotWired Learning©, but we didn’t know why.” Basica responded to our question. “Recent research has shown that when human emotions are stimulated the increased brain activity is not just neural, it is also chemical. So in addition to the films acting as third party mirrors where we can see our own similar behavior the films are actually preparing our brains to learn. I don’t fully understand the process but I can tell you the results we see first hand support the research. People who have participated in a Silver Bullet session will walk up years later and quote the concept and film clips accurately. It is amazing.”

FAME, the Silver Bullet Partners acronym for success provided a check list for what to do when the event was over. Have Faith in yourself and your team that you can do the job. Maintain your Attitude as it is your most important asset. Define your personal Mission and place visual reminders in your office, car and home to help you stay focused. Execution is the final piece of the puzzle and all other phases of success are dependent on your ability to execute.

Jim Poole from Lakeside Marine Group a Tiara Dealer was one of the motivated students. “Every thing about the Tiara University was done as well as they build their boats. I learned so much about the products it was great. Having Pete come in to close our session perfect. He brought the entire event into perspective. If Pete is going to speak at the next Tiara event I’ll be there.”

“When Dave Northrop called and asked SBP to participate we were flattered. Tiara University is probably the finest in the marine industry. Then he told us we would only have an hour. I can barely say hello in an hour!” Based on the reaction to his presentation he must have found a way to include his hello and message in the allotted time. Maybe he used a Silver Bullet to target the group?

The GTO JusticeTM debuted in the ProCharger display at SEMA 2004. Silver Bullet Partners, Inc. (SBP) of West Michigan developed the concept and product scope for this 525 HP current version of the legendary Pontiac GTO. SBP’s ability to develop and manage strategic relationships with premier high performance vendors (BAER, BMR, Corsa, Faze, HRE, K & N, KONI, Michelin, ProCharger and Recaro) was critical to the success of this ambitious project.

“Keeping everyone focused and informed was mission critical. The players from the various companies were never in the same place at the same time. Almost every phase of the GTO JusticeTM project was coordinated remotely.” said Peter Basica, President of Silver Bullet Partners and the project manager. “Being new to this industry was just one more challenge. Effective communication was the tool that made it all work.” Technology was employed from essential emails to web enabled video.

The car was unveiled to the approval of the guests at SEMA. The results of the GTO JusticeTM project can be seen on corporate websites, in GTO forums and in the broadband video created by SBP for the project. “For us at SBP this was business as usual. We are accustomed to working in diverse environments with equally unique personalities. At the end of the day it is all about communication and that is what we do best.”
